EVENT OF THE MONTH – every month we highlight a cultural happening in the city, a not-to be missed event for exhibitors, visitors, professionals and congress participants hosted by Firenze Fiera.

The Tapestry Exhibtion at the Uffizi Gallery open until June 3, 2012

Their worst enemies are light, dust, insect and gravity deriving from being hung. In the past centuries, they decorated the bleak walls of the main Medici palaces in the city and of the villas in the surroundings with their stories woven with precious yarns. The first exhibition scheduled for Firenze 2012. Un Anno ad Arte (Florence 2012. A year under the aegis of Arts) is devoted to tapestries, extraordinary works of art. The exhibition is called The Tapestries Gallery – Epiphanies of Precious Fabrics and will be open until the 3rd June at the Uffizi Gallery.

American ‘Impressions’. The Exhibition “Americans in Florence. Sargent and the American Impressionists” - Palazzo Strozzi, open until the 15th July 2012.
