07 September 2011

Energethica, the show-conference for sustainable energy and renewable sources arrives in Florence, taking place at the Fortezza da Basso from the 22nd to the 24th September 2011. The most innovative solutions in terms of energy and sustainability produced by local science centers for all application purposes will be on show -  from the dustbin of the future, generating energy from trash, to the technological panel making the use of solar energy in industry much more advantageous, and from geothermics linked with teleheating up to many other solutions for eco-sustainable constructions and for a clean mobility.

The special guest of the opening day will be Canadian scientist Patrick  Hallembeck, who found out how to produce energy from microbes. Hallembeck is also an expert of the International Agency for Energy, an authority to promote renewable energies within the Organization for the Economic Co-operation and Development (OCSE).“We chose Florence because here you can find important research centers, whose contribution is crucial to create the Smart City of the future”, explains Edgar Maeder, the organizer of this event.“We are delighted to host the seventh edition of Energethica inside our exhibition center, after the successful past editions in Turin and Genoa – adds Antonio Brotini, President of  Firenze Fiera. “I’m sure  this city, as well the whole Tuscany, will be able to answer the requests arising from this event in the most effective and reliable way, thanks also to a remarkable presence of green economy in this region.
