“A scuola nessuno è straniero” (Nobody is a Stranger at School) – Teachers and experts meet at Palazzo dei Congressi on the 30th September 2011
21 September 2011

Everything is ready for the convention promoted and organized by the Educational Department of the Region of Tuscany, in cooperation with the publishing house Giunti Scuola. The event, named Nobody is a Stranger at School. New Citizens in the Italy of Pluralities (150 years later), will take place at Palazzo dei Congressi on the 30th September 2011 and over 500 participants are expected to attend the event.

Twenty years after practicing and experiencing integration in schools, which have now become multicultural and multilingual realities, the time has come to start a new stage, spreading and setting up the ideas and the projects for an optimal integration of children and young people coming from all over the world, using educational tools and methods suitable for the new and different needs of a “multicultural class”. The convention is divided into two different moments – the first session (morning) will deal with the following topic: “School and a Correct Integration: Tools and Practices”. “School Means Equality: Ideas and Proposals” will be the topic of the afternoon session. During the convention, a ‘poster area’ will be active to present the new edition of the ‘Sesamo intercultural didactics’ project, as well as the three projects financed by the Region of Tuscany, aiming at building up the ‘Plan to Manage Differences’ in Tuscan schools.
